The Light of Justice
“What does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God….[Know that] we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins--and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.”
Micah 6:8
1 John 2:1-2 (niv & nlt)
“When a young girl’s case came before the court, the judge recognized Micah’s Promise as experts in Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and invited us into chambers to advocate for her. We helped the ADA, the youth’s attorney, and representatives from Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and Department of Family & Child Services (DFCS) understand that she was a SURVIVOR of CSEC—not a criminal. Our insights shifted the narrative, ensuring she received compassion and support to begin healing as a survivor, not a criminal. Additionally, we had the opportunity to educate the detective on her case about the State Hotline and how to identify CSEC victims, further equipping them to protect vulnerable youth.”
- Bobbi Starr, Executive Dir. Micah’s Promise
The ultimate act of JUSTICE was Jesus giving His life for the guilty, offering us righteousness we could never earn. This GIFT transforms us, calling us to courageously make others’ burdens our own. True justice means loving others AS JESUS LOVED US, seeking justice and righteousness for the vulnerable, and shining His light in the darkness; it’s a commitment fueled by the words of the ancient prophet Micah.
Be the Extended Arm of Justice
Join us in the fight against trafficking by supporting efforts that bring hope and restoration to survivors. Together, we can make a difference through:
Statewide Advocacy and Leadership: As active participants in the Georgia Statewide Human Trafficking Taskforce, we position Micah’s Promise as a trusted leader in combating trafficking. Your support helps us stand as advocates for vulnerable girls, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
Equipping Officers and Leaders with Tools for Change: By training officers and community leaders, we provide tools to identify and assist survivors with trauma-informed care. These efforts build stronger support networks and open doors to courtrooms and conference rooms, where we fight for their healing and restoration.
